On behalf of the five Rotary Clubs, Abergavenny Rotary Club has registered with GOFUNDME to enable Walk the Canal entrants and supporters to make ONLINE donations.
Please follow these instructions to set up your GOFUNDME ONLINE page. Then share your page with friends who wish to support you.
- Enter Gofundme.com into your browser
- Click on Start a GoFundMe
- Enter your country & your Post Code
- Click on your Post Code
- Before clicking “continue” scroll down the page and choose the “community” category. Then click on “continue”
- Scroll down the next page and click on “Charity”
- Enter 1190919 in the “Search for a Charity box”
- Abergavenny Rotary Charitable Incorporated Organisation appears on the screen.
- Click on “continue”
- Set your Fundraiser target. Click on “continue”
- Enter your name and email address and create a password.
- Enter your mobile number and choose how you would like to receive messages.
- Click on “Send Code”
- Enter the code in the verification box.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your page
- You will be asked to create a story. We suggest the following text.
- Do you want to join me in making a difference? I am raising money in aid of Cancer Research Wales. I am taking part in the WALK THE CANAL sponsored walk event on Sunday 12th May 2024, which is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Abergavenny, Crickhowell, Cwmbran Vale, Henllys and Pontypool. Every donation will help.

- You will be given a URL link when you complete your page. Please give this link to your friends and invite them to sponsor you,

HOW TO MAKE AN INDIVIDUAL DONATION
- You may want to walk the canal and donate without seeking sponsors, or you may not be able to take part in the walk and still donate as part of this event. Either way, you can donate in support of Cancer Research Wales and the other local charities by entering the following link into your browser:-

- Click on “Donate Now” and follow the onscreen instructions.
- Donations can be made through any debit card, credit card or PAYPAL.
- Don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation, if that is your wish.
- When you enter your donation amount in the rectangular box on the Go Fund Me Page, you are not obliged to Tip the Go Fund Me Services. If you do not wish to leave a tip, then move the Green Cursor Button left to the zero setting to avoid making any unwanted payments. This is an optional button which can be set to zero.
